San Francisco 49ers star tight end George Kittle recently revealed his struggles during the offseason as he recovered from multiple injuries sustained during the team's Super Bowl loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in February. In a podcast appearance on "Bussin' with the Boys," Kittle disclosed that he was unable to work out for several weeks, resulting in a significant weight loss of around 30 pounds.

Kittle, who stands at 6-foot-4 and typically weighs 250 pounds, explained that he was hindered by shoulder and rib injuries, as well as a core muscle tear and a fractured rib. These injuries limited his ability to engage in upper body and lower body workouts, forcing him to forgo lifting weights from the Super Bowl until mid-March.

Despite his challenging road to recovery, Kittle managed to play in all 16 regular-season games for the 49ers, showcasing his undeniable toughness and dedication to the team. He chose to delay his surgeries until the offseason, allowing him to give his all during the regular season. Kittle's commitment and contributions were evident as he surpassed the 1,000-yard receiving mark for the first time since 2019.

The star tight end has been hailed by Pro Football Focus as the best running block tight end in the NFL, further solidifying his importance to the team's offensive line. Kittle expressed optimism about regaining the weight he lost, aiming to gain back an additional 10 pounds before the start of the regular season. He emphasized that his consistent workout routine will help him return to peak performance.

Kittle's recovery journey began in March, and he now states that he is feeling great and almost back to 100 percent. As he continues building a strong connection with quarterback Brock Purdy, 49ers fans can look forward to Kittle's revitalized presence on the field.

Throughout his career, Kittle has established himself as one of the toughest players in the league, willing to play through injuries and push his limits for the benefit of his team. His ability to perform despite battling an Inguinal Groin Sports Hernia during the 2023 season further showcases his unwavering determination.

As the 2024 regular season approaches, all eyes will be on George Kittle as he looks to make a significant impact for the San Francisco 49ers once again.
