In a remarkable display of support for the LGBTQ+ community, Adele firmly shut down a heckler who expressed anti-Pride sentiments during her Las Vegas residency concert. The incident occurred on the first night of Pride Month while the 16-time Grammy award-winning singer was engaging with the audience onstage.
Videos of the incident, which quickly circulated on social media platforms, showed Adele passionately addressing the interruption. In response to the heckler shouting, "Pride sucks!" Adele promptly retorted, "Did you come to my f---ing show and just say that Pride sucks? Are you f---ing stupid? Don't be so f---ing ridiculous. If you got nothing nice to say, shut up, alright?"
This is not the first time the iconic pop soul singer has addressed negative audience behavior. Last year, she called out fans who engaged in the dangerous trend of throwing objects at artists on stage, putting them at risk of injury. Adele dared fans to "throw something" while condemning the declining show etiquette in America.
Moreover, Adele has consistently protected her audience members during her performances. In a previous incident, she interrupted her show to scold venue security for "bothering" a fan.
Adele's concert residency titled "Weekends With Adele," which is being held at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas, is her first-ever residency and started in November 2022. The residency was initially postponed due to hurdles related to Covid-19 and later faced a delay this year because of a recurring health issue, following medical advice.
With this incident, Adele's unwavering support for the LGBTQ+ community is evident. Her swift response to the anti-Pride rhetoric showcases her dedication to creating an inclusive and safe environment for her fans. As the residency continues, fans can expect more extraordinary performances as Adele captivates audiences with her powerful voice and poignant messages.
