### Former Dallas Cowboys Player Involved in Fatal Motorcycle Crash

A tragic accident on U.S. Highway 75 resulted in the death of a 27-year-old motorcyclist and the arrest of a former Dallas Cowboys player. According to Richardson police, the incident occurred early Saturday morning, leading to a shutdown of the northbound lanes for over three hours.

The motorcyclist, identified as Cody Morris, was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash was reported just before 5 a.m., and officers arrived shortly thereafter to investigate the fatal collision. At around 5:39 a.m., Kelvin Joseph Jr., 25, contacted the Plano Police Department to report his involvement in a crash.

Richardson police determined that Joseph was traveling northbound on U.S. 75 in a BMW sedan when he collided with the motorcycle. During their interaction with Joseph, officers noted signs of intoxication, leading to his arrest on charges of driving while intoxicated and collision involving personal injury or death. Joseph was held in the Richardson City Jail as of Saturday afternoon, with bond yet to be determined.

Kelvin Joseph Jr. was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys in the second round of the 2021 Draft and played for the team for two seasons. His career saw him joining multiple NFL teams, including the Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks, Kansas City Chiefs, Indianapolis Colts, and Minnesota Vikings from 2023 to 2024. In 2025, he transitioned to the UFL, playing for the D.C. Defenders.

Joseph had previously been questioned but cleared in a murder investigation related to a March 2022 shooting outside the OT Tavern Bar and Grill in Lower Greenville. Despite being present in the suspects' vehicle, his exact involvement was not officially specified. Two individuals from Louisiana were arrested in connection with the incident.

The D.C. Defenders, Joseph's current team, are scheduled to compete against the St. Louis Battlehawks in the XFL Conference Championship on Sunday, June 8. The victor will move on to face the USFL Conference Champion in the UFL Championship.
