Toshiba has issued a recall for certain model PA-1750-04 AC adapters due to a potential fire hazard. The recall includes adapters with date codes ranging from April 2008 to December 2012, identified with either a year month date format (e.g., 0804 for April 2008) or a year week date format (e.g., 0815 for week 15 of 2008). The black AC adapters are sold with Toshiba brand personal laptops and separately.

Consumers are urged to check the model numbers and serial numbers on their AC adapters to determine if they are part of the recall. The adapters have been reported to overheat, spark, and pose burn and fire risks. There have been 679 reports of overheating, fires, melting, and burning, resulting in 43 minor burn injuries.

To address the issue, consumers with affected AC adapters are advised to stop using them immediately and contact Dynabook Americas for a free replacement. To receive a replacement, consumers must send a photo of the AC adapter with the power cord cut to dba-acadapter2024@dynabook.com for proper disposal.

The recalled AC adapters were sold in various stores nationwide and on Toshiba.com between April 2008 and April 2014, with prices ranging from $25 to $75. For more information on identifying the recalled AC adapters and obtaining a replacement, consumers can visit the Dynabook Americas website.
