New England Patriots Announce 17 New Additions to Coach Jerod Mayo's Staff

This comes after the earlier announcement of three new coordinators on Mayo's staff. The Patriots are gearing up for the upcoming season with a revamped coaching line-up.

On the offensive side, the Patriots have brought in several coaches to bolster their ranks. Bob Bicknell, who previously served as a senior offensive assistant with the New Orleans Saints, joins as the new tight ends coach. Taylor Embree, formerly with the New York Jets, takes on the role of running backs coach. Tyler Hughes, who had a previous stint with the Patriots as an offensive assistant, returns to the team. Robert Kugler joins as the assistant offensive line coach. Ben McAdoo brings his experience as a former head coach of the New York Giants to the team as a senior offensive assistant. Michael McCarthy joins as the offensive coaching assistant/quality control, while T.C. McCartney takes over as the quarterbacks coach. Scott Peters assumes the position of offensive line coach, and Tiquan Underwood joins as the assistant wide receivers coach.

On the defensive side, the Patriots have added several new faces to enhance their coaching staff. Vinny DePalma comes in as the defensive coaching assistant/quality control. Dont'a Hightower, a former player for the Patriots with an impressive career, takes on the role of inside linebackers coach. Jamael Lett joins as a defensive coaching assistant/quality control, while Jerry Montgomery becomes the new defensive line coach. Drew Wilkins assumes the position of outside linebackers coach.

Special teams also see some changes with the addition of Tom Quinn as the special teams assistant coach. Coby Tippett joins as the special teams coaching assistant/quality control.

In addition to the coaching staff, Brian McDonough, who has consulted with the team for over 20 years, is hired as the assistant strength and conditioning coach. McDonough brings a wealth of experience in sports performance training.

Each of these new assistant coaches brings unique expertise and experience to the New England Patriots. With the team working towards a successful season, the addition of these coaches will undoubtedly contribute to their preparations.
