### JD Vance Advocates for Bengals to Secure Hendrickson with Long-Term Deal

Amid swirling speculations and behind-the-scenes negotiations, Trey Hendrickson’s future with the Cincinnati Bengals remains a focal point for fans and analysts alike. From seeking trade options granted by the Bengals to unexpectedly attending an offseason practice, the star pass rusher has kept everyone guessing. Now, the question looms: will the Bengals secure Hendrickson with a new deal before the 2025 season?

Vice President JD Vance shared his insights on the matter during an appearance on "This Past Weekend Podcast With Theo Von." Vance praised Hendrickson, labeling him as a "generational talent" and emphasizing the challenge in acquiring such a player. Drawing comparisons to the evolving valuation of left tackles a decade ago, Vance highlighted the growing importance and underappreciation of edge rushers in the NFL.

Vance’s personal connection to the Bengals adds an emotional layer to his comments. Growing up just 37 miles from Paycor Stadium in Middletown, the 40-year-old recalls the struggles of the 1990s and expresses hope that players like Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, and Hendrickson can lead Cincinnati to a Lombardi Trophy soon.

In a candid appeal to Hendrickson, Vance humorously mentioned his willingness to personally attend Bengals games, depending on Hendrickson's political affiliation, to ensure the star rusher’s commitment to the team. He conveyed optimism about the Bengals' potential for a championship run, provided the defense and offensive line solidify alongside Burrow and Chase.

Currently, Hendrickson is set to earn a base salary of $16 million this year. Both he and the team are eager to finalize a multi-year contract extension, ensuring his presence in Cincinnati stripes for the foreseeable future.
