The contract details have shed light on the financial aspects of Brown's deal, which provides an opportunity for him to earn up to $4 million in additional incentives.

The contract breakdown reveals that Brown will receive a $3 million signing bonus, boosting the initial cap figure to $6.5 million. In addition to his base salary of $3.5 million for the upcoming season, Brown is eligible for various bonuses and incentives.

One of the incentives is based on his playtime percentage, or the number of offensive snaps he plays. Brown, who was on the field for 69% of the Arizona Cardinals' plays in 2023, can earn up to $1.5 million in this category. However, only $750,000 of that incentive is classified as likely-to-be-earned (LTBE) and will count against the 2024 salary cap.

Another incentive tied to receiving yardage offers Brown the chance to earn up to $1.5 million. Since he recorded 574 receiving yards last season, only the lowest threshold of $500,000 for 500 yards will be classified as likely-to-be-earned (LTBE) in 2024. This means that a portion of the incentive will impact the salary cap for the upcoming season.

Brown's contract also includes $250,000 in per-game roster bonuses, which adds up to $14,706 for each game in a 17-game season. As Brown appeared in 14 games last year, approximately $206,000 of these per-game bonuses will be classified as likely-to-be-earned (LTBE) and will count against the salary cap.

Furthermore, Brown has the opportunity to earn a bonus of $500,000 if he scores five touchdowns, with additional incentives of $250,000 each for his sixth and seventh touchdowns. However, since he only scored four touchdowns last season, these particular incentives are not-likely-to-be-earned (NLTBE) and will only impact the salary cap in 2025.

Taking into account the entirety of Brown's contract, the Sports Illustrated report indicates that the Chiefs' cap hit for the upcoming season will be closer to $8.2 million, rather than the earlier assumption of $7 million. With this new information, it is estimated that the Chiefs currently have around $7.7 million in cap space, considering the contracts of their 71 players.

Marquise "Hollywood" Brown's signing adds another dynamic weapon to the Kansas City Chiefs' receiving corps, and the contract details highlight the various incentives and bonuses that can further motivate the talented wide receiver to excel on the field in the upcoming season.
