The Green Bay Packers have made an important move to strengthen their roster for the upcoming season, re-signing linebacker Eric Wilson. The news was confirmed by Wilson himself on his official Instagram page, where he expressed his excitement about another year with the Packers.

Having already played 30 games for the Packers, Wilson has proven himself to be an integral part of the team's special teams unit. Last season, he led the pack in special teams snaps with an impressive 308, showcasing his commitment and dedication to the team's success.

Wilson's impact on special teams has not gone unnoticed. In 2023, he recorded an impressive 12 special teams tackles, leading the Packers and earning himself the eighth rank in the overall NFL standings. In the previous season of 2022, Wilson also demonstrated his prowess with 13 special teams tackles, securing the sixteenth spot in the league. These outstanding performances have cemented Wilson's position as a top special teams player.

Recognizing the importance of depth at off-ball linebacker as they transition to a 4-3 defense, the Packers have made strategic moves this offseason. The team released De'Vondre Campbell but has retained Wilson, highlighting their confidence in his abilities. Wilson's re-signing, along with the addition of fellow top special teamer Kristian Welch, further strengthens the Packers' special teams unit.

Wilson's journey to the NFL began in 2017 when he entered as an undrafted free agent. Since then, he has gained valuable experience, playing in 108 regular-season games and six playoff games throughout his seven-year career. Notably, he has amassed an impressive 1,621 career snaps on special teams, proving his consistency and reliability on the field.

As the Green Bay Packers gear up for the upcoming season, the re-signing of Eric Wilson is poised to boost their efforts on both special teams and defense. With his stellar performances and experience, Wilson will undoubtedly be a valuable asset for the team's success in the upcoming year.
