Former NFL running back Mike Davis has officially announced his retirement from professional football at the age of 31. Davis, who was a fourth-round pick by the 49ers in 2015, made the announcement on his birthday through social media. In his statement, Davis expressed gratitude for his time in the NFL and the connections he made within the football brotherhood.

Throughout his career, which spanned 87 games, Davis rushed for 2,052 yards and scored 14 touchdowns. He also made an impact in the passing game, catching 171 passes for 1,066 yards and four touchdowns. His most productive season came in 2020 with the Carolina Panthers, where he totaled 1,015 yards from scrimmage and eight total touchdowns.

Despite his time with multiple teams such as the Seahawks, Bears, Falcons, and Ravens, Davis did not join a team for the 2023 season. Reflecting on his retirement, the running back expressed his appreciation for every organization he had been a part of in the NFL. Davis leaves behind a legacy of hard work and dedication on the football field.
