Former NFL cornerback Richard Sherman was arrested on Saturday for suspected driving under the influence. A King County District Court Judge set bail at $5,000 during a hearing on Monday morning, although Sherman was not present. Currently in custody, he will be allowed release once bail is processed. Sherman faces another hearing on Wednesday where the judge has ordered him not to drive, consume alcohol or prescription drugs, or refuse blood or breath tests.
According to a police report, Sherman was stopped for driving 79 mph in a 60 mph zone on Saturday and admitted to having consumed two drinks. Despite refusing a Breathalyzer, he consented to other tests and was arrested for suspected DUI. Notably, Sherman was previously arrested on a similar charge in July 2021 and later pleaded guilty to first-degree negligent driving, second-degree criminal trespass, and speeding in a roadway construction zone.
