Former Dolphins Cornerback Vontae Davis Found Dead in Broward Home

During the 911 call, the personal assistant revealed that she had last spoken to Davis on Friday, although one of his drivers had seen him on Saturday night. The woman who discovered Davis informed the operator that she had searched the house before finding him in the gym area, but the details of her findings have been redacted from the released calls.

Davis, a first-round pick of the Dolphins in the 2009 NFL Draft, had a successful career, playing for Miami for three seasons. In that time, he started 36 out of 48 games, amassing a total of 149 combined tackles, nine interceptions, and one sack. He then went on to play for the Buffalo Bills in 2018 before abruptly retiring at halftime during a Week 2 game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
