In a surprising revelation, Doug Emhoff, husband of Vice President Kamala Harris, has admitted to an affair during his first marriage. The admission comes following a recent report alleging that Emhoff had an affair with the family nanny over a decade-and-a-half ago, resulting in a pregnancy, which the nanny did not keep.

The affair reportedly took place with a blonde nanny named Najen Naylor, who was also a teacher at a private school attended by Emhoff's two children from his first marriage. While the details of the alleged pregnancy were not explicitly addressed, a close friend with direct knowledge of the affair confirmed the existence of a pregnancy to The Daily Mail.

Hours after the report surfaced, Emhoff released a statement to CNN in which he acknowledged the affair but did not mention Naylor or address her alleged pregnancy. Emhoff stated, "During my first marriage, Kerstin and I went through some tough times on account of my actions. I took responsibility, and in the years since, we worked through things as a family and have come out stronger on the other side."

According to a source familiar with the matter, the affair was disclosed to President Biden's vetting committee four years ago before he selected Harris as his running mate in the 2020 election. Emhoff reportedly informed Harris about the affair well before they tied the knot, and the relationship with Naylor had already ended by the time Emhoff began dating Harris.

Both Naylor and a friend, Stacey Brooks, who gave birth to twin boys around the same time as Naylor's alleged pregnancy, did not deny the claims. Naylor, when approached by The Daily Mail at her Hamptons home, expressed being "freaked out." Brooks stated that she could not discuss the matter without Naylor's permission.

The news of the affair has reportedly created concern within Harris' camp, despite recent polls showing a decline in former President Donald Trump's advantage in battleground states since Harris became the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee.

Emhoff, who divorced his ex-wife, movie producer Kerstin Emhoff, in 2009, citing "irreconcilable differences," has two children from his previous marriage. Harris' camp has not responded to requests for comment on the matter, and attempts to reach Kerstin Emhoff have been unsuccessful.

The alleged affair, which is believed to have taken place around 2008 or 2009, reportedly led to Naylor's departure from her teaching position at The Willows, a prestigious private elementary school in Culver City, California, where she had been teaching the Emhoff children and working as their nanny.

As of now, no birth records have been found for anyone named "Brook Naylor" born in 2008 or 2009, nor are there any records of babies with the last name "Emhoff" born in Los Angeles County during those years, according to The Daily Mail.

Emhoff's admission of the affair raises questions about the impact on his and Harris' public image and adds a new layer to the personal history of the second gentleman. The coming days will likely bring further scrutiny and discussion regarding the affair and its potential implications for the Vice President and the Biden administration.
