### Kyiv Under Siege: Drone Attacks Injure Seven, Large-Scale Prisoner Swap Continues

Russian drone attacks on Kyiv early Sunday have led to at least seven injuries, with debris igniting an apartment building and damaging several homes. Tymur Tkachenko, head of Kyiv city's military administration, reported that more than a dozen drones were seen flying over the capital. Kyiv's mayor, Vitali Klitschko, confirmed the city was "under attack," reassuring residents that air defenses were operational and advising them to stay in shelters.

This incident follows a massive assault on Saturday, where Ukraine's air force reported that Russia launched 14 ballistic missiles and 250 attack drones toward Kyiv, injuring 15 people. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy interpreted the heightened aggression as a move by Moscow to extend the conflict, calling for additional sanctions on Russia's key economic sectors to coerce it into agreeing to a ceasefire.

Further afield, Russian attacks claimed the lives of 13 civilians between Friday and Saturday in Ukraine's south, east, and north. In Odesa, three people were killed in a missile strike on port infrastructure. Russian sources claimed the target was a cargo ship carrying military equipment.

Meanwhile, a large-scale prisoner swap continues to unfold. On Saturday, 307 Russian prisoners of war were exchanged for an equal number of Ukrainian soldiers. This swap follows the exchange of 270 soldiers and civilians from each side on Friday. The exchanges are expected to continue, aiming to bring the total number of prisoners swapped to 1,000 based on a recent agreement between Russia and Ukraine held in Istanbul.

In Kharkiv, drones damaged multiple city districts, according to Mayor Ihor Terekhov. The Russian defense ministry claimed its forces had captured several settlements in Donetsk region and one in the Sumy region, although these claims were not independently verified.

Furthermore, the Russian defense ministry reported shooting down over 100 Ukrainian drones in western and southern Russia, including a significant hit on a plant in Tula that manufactures chemicals for explosives and rocket fuel.

The ongoing strikes and military maneuvers indicate that the conflict, now in its fourth year, shows no signs of abating, prompting international calls for decisive actions to achieve a ceasefire.
