### Attack at Pearl Street Mall in Boulder Leaves Multiple Injured

In Boulder, Colorado, an attack at the Pearl Street Mall on Sunday afternoon has resulted in multiple injuries, prompting a heavy police response. Authorities reported the assault occurred near 13th Street and Pearl Street and have advised the public to avoid the area as first responders manage the scene.

Boulder police are currently evacuating the 1200, 1300, and 1400 blocks of Pearl Street, extending between Walnut and Pine Streets, as they conduct their investigation. The department urged people to stay clear of the area with a tweet at 3:08 p.m. that read, "PLEASE AVOID THIS AREA."

Eyewitnesses informed CBS Colorado that the suspect used Molotov cocktails to attack participants of a walk organized to remember Israeli hostages in Gaza. Not long after the incident, FBI Director Kash Patel and Deputy Director Dan Bongino categorized the act as a terrorist attack. By approximately 3:30 p.m., FBI agents had arrived at the scene.

"Run For Their Lives," the organization behind the walk, emphasized that the event was intended to be a peaceful demonstration to express solidarity with the hostages and their families, calling for their release. The walk began at 1 p.m. at Pearl Street and 8th Street, continuing to the courthouses for a video stop.

Footage from the scene reveals a burn scar in front of the old courthouse, and one individual was seen being carried away on a stretcher. Other images captured a shirtless man being detained by police.

Expressing his concern, Colorado Governor Jared Polis posted on X about the incident. "I am closely monitoring the situation in Boulder, and my thoughts go out to the people who have been injured and impacted by this heinous act of terror. Hate-filled acts of any kind are unacceptable. While details emerge, the state works with local and federal law enforcement to support this investigation."

This is a developing story, and updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
