**Jacksonville's Southside Hooters Permanently Closes**

A notable Hooters location on Southside Boulevard in Jacksonville has permanently closed, as confirmed by a company spokesperson to First Coast News on Wednesday. The restaurant, situated at 4521 Southside Blvd., ceased operations following an evaluation intended to best position the company for future success.

"Hooters made the difficult decision to close our Jacksonville Southside location, effective June 4, 2025," the spokesperson stated. The closure is a strategic move to support Hooters' long-term goals by transitioning towards a franchise-focused business model.

This recent shutdown follows the closure of another local branch on Wells Road in Orange Park nearly a year ago. The Orange Park location had a 24-year history before its doors were closed.

The decision also comes in the wake of Hooters' filing for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in March, which was part of a larger plan to sell off its company-owned locations to a consortium of franchise owners. As part of this bankruptcy process, the company had indicated a thorough review of its operational footprint, hinting at potential closures.

Throughout this period, Hooters has assured support for its affected employees and expressed gratitude for the continued loyalty of its customers.

Currently, the only remaining Hooters in the Jacksonville area is located at 8938 San Jose Blvd.
