In a devastating incident, Minnesota Vikings' rookie cornerback Khyree Jackson, aged 24, was among three people killed in a car crash in Maryland. The tragic incident occurred just before 3:15 a.m. on Saturday in Prince George's County, involving three vehicles.

According to state police, Jackson was traveling in the front passenger seat of a maroon Dodge Charger, driven by Isaiah Hazel, 23. Another passenger, Anthony Lytton, 24, was also in the vehicle. The crash claimed the lives of Hazel and Jackson at the scene, while Lytton was rushed to the hospital but was later pronounced dead.

The collision happened when a silver Infiniti, driven by Cori Clingman, 23, tried to change lanes while traveling northbound on Route 4. Police stated that Clingman was speeding and collided with the Charger first before hitting a Chevrolet Impala. The impact caused the Charger to veer off the road, hitting multiple tree stumps before coming to a halt.

Fortunately, Clingman and two other passengers in the Infiniti emerged unharmed. The driver of the Impala also refused medical treatment at the scene. Police suspect that alcohol may have played a role in the crash, and charges are pending as the investigation continues.

The news of Jackson's untimely death has left the Minnesota Vikings organization and the NFL community in shock. Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell expressed his devastation, describing Jackson as a player who brought contagious energy and drew teammates to him. O'Connell praised Jackson's commitment to personal growth and highlighted his potential as a professional football player.

The Vikings franchise released a statement expressing their devastation and extending condolences to Jackson's family, friends, teammates, and coaches. The owners, Mark and Zygi Wilf, recognized Jackson's bright future as a player and his dedication to making a positive difference in people's lives.

General manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah also expressed his sorrow over the tragic loss, emphasizing Jackson's personal magnetism and the impact he had on those around him. Ducks' head coach Dan Lanning also paid tribute to Jackson, remembering him as a great player and an even better person.

The NFL community shared in the grief, with the league expressing deep sadness and condolences to Jackson's family, loved ones, and everyone affected by this tragic accident.

Khyree Jackson, a talented starting cornerback at the University of Oregon, was chosen as the Minnesota Vikings' fourth-round draft pick in the NFL Draft held in April. Hailing from Upper Marlboro, Maryland, he was well on his way to establishing a promising career.

As the investigation continues and the details surrounding the accident unfold, this devastating incident serves as a reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of cherishing every moment. The loss of Khyree Jackson leaves a void in the football community and highlights the need for continued awareness of road safety.
