**Joe Milton III Embraces Fresh Start with Dallas Cowboys After Surprise Trade**

Joe Milton III, initially taken aback by his trade from the New England Patriots, is embracing his unexpected new role with the Dallas Cowboys. The second-year quarterback expressed gratitude and optimism about continuing his career in Dallas.

Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Milton described his trade to the Cowboys as a "blessing," highlighting several reasons for his excitement. Firstly, he mentioned the opportunity to play at AT&T Stadium, known for its impressive dome, which he views as a significant advantage. "They allowed me to play in a dome," Milton remarked.

Additionally, Milton is thrilled to join what he referred to as "America's Team." The storied reputation and significant fanbase of the Cowboys make them a unique franchise in the NFL. Moreover, he looks forward to learning from Dak Prescott, the Cowboys' starting quarterback. "It's just great to learn from somebody like Dak," Milton noted.

Reflecting on the sudden trade, Milton shared his surprise upon receiving the early morning call informing him of the Patriots' decision. Milton expressed gratitude, focusing on the positive aspects of his new journey. "Coming here was a blessing," he stated. His agent had informed him that multiple teams showed interest, but he felt fortunate to land with the Cowboys.

Milton was selected by the Patriots in the sixth round of the 2024 NFL Draft. Despite some initial promise during the preseason and a strong performance in New England's regular-season finale, the Patriots' new coaching staff decided to trade him. With Drake Maye secure in the starting quarterback position, the Patriots traded Milton and a seventh-round pick to Dallas in exchange for a fifth-round pick.

The transition marks a significant chapter for Milton, who now aims to make the most of his opportunities with the Cowboys.
