HOBOKEN, N.J. - New York Giants starting quarterback Daniel Jones is set to hit the ground running at training camp next week, after undergoing surgery for a torn ACL last November. Although he wasn't fully cleared in the spring, Jones expressed optimism about his readiness for practice at his Flexwork Youth Football Camp on Sunday.

When asked if he was fully cleared for practice, Jones confidently replied, "Yeah, should be ready to go." The Giants veterans are scheduled to report to training camp on Tuesday, with the first practice slated for Wednesday.

Jones has shown no setbacks this summer, paving the way for his full participation from the very start of training camp. The Giants had carefully planned his recovery, aiming for full clearance by late July. Consequently, the team does not expect him to start on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.

"I feel good. Ready to go. Ready to go for training camp," declared Jones at his football camp. "Looking forward to next Wednesday."

Despite evaluating quarterbacks during this year's draft, the Giants have remained steadfast in their commitment to Jones as the starting quarterback for Week 1 against the Minnesota Vikings at MetLife Stadium, barring any unforeseen setbacks.

General manager Joe Schoen even hinted at potential interest from other teams, stating at the NFL scouting combine, "Keep me in mind" to the New England Patriots regarding a potential trade involving the third overall pick. However, the Patriots eventually chose North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye.

Jones, who started just six games last season due to neck and knee injuries, aims to bounce back after a challenging year. He threw only two touchdown passes and had six interceptions, following a promising previous season. The Giants achieved a postseason berth in 2022, with Jones delivering an outstanding performance in a playoff victory.

Throughout the offseason, Jones focused on his recovery and conditioning in New Jersey, with the goal of returning to training camp without any limitations. Reflecting on his offseason, he remarked, "It has been quick. Mostly up here [in New Jersey], training, rehabbing, getting ready to go."

Before immersing himself fully in football, Jones organized his first-ever football camp as a way to give back to the community. Held in Hoboken, the place he now calls home, the event attracted 500 participants, including 50 invited from the Harlem and Far Rockaway Giants, who maintain a close relationship with the team.

Jones expressed his excitement about the camp, saying, "I think it's just a cool opportunity to spend some time with some kids, here in Hoboken where I live. It's a special opportunity to spend time with kids. I remember doing this when I was a kid during summer. Me and my brother would go to all different kinds of camps, all different sports, so it's fun to be here."

As training camp approaches, the spotlight is now on Jones, as he embarks on what could be a make-or-break season for his career with the Giants.
