Investigative journalist Pablo Torre has brought attention to a developing situation involving North Carolina football staff's apprehension about Bill Belichick's 24-year-old girlfriend, Jordon Hudson. Torre revealed during a recent appearance on Bill Simmons' podcast that concerns are growing within the UNC athletic program, specifically among Belichick's close associates, including general manager Mike Lombardi.

Painting a troubling picture of the internal atmosphere at UNC, Torre remarked that Belichick's circle of coaches is highly uneasy about Hudson's involvement with the team. Although Simmons, a dedicated Boston sports enthusiast and founder of “The Ringer,” attempted to steer the podcast away from the topic, Torre persisted, seeking insight from Simmons about Lombardi's stance on the matter.

Adding to the saga, Torre mentioned Hudson’s attendance at a Patriots game in November 2021, where she occupied Belichick's seats at Gillette Stadium. This appearance coincided with the timeline that the couple has shared about meeting on a flight from New York to Palm Beach earlier that same year.

The controversy further intensified after Torre’s report last month, which claimed Hudson had been barred from the UNC athletic facilities following a tense "CBS Sunday Morning" interview with Belichick. In the interview, Hudson notably interrupted Belichick when asked about their meeting. Torre suggested that Hudson was attempting to influence Belichick's career for her benefit and that this behavior had stirred worry among Belichick's family.

In response to Torre’s investigation, both Belichick and UNC denied the claims about Hudson being banned from the facilities. They issued a statement specifically countering Torre's allegations. The friction between Torre and Simmons became evident during their podcast exchange, with Simmons criticizing Torre for his focus on what he considered a trivial issue.

Torre acknowledged the backlash, humorously noting Hudson’s retort on social media, which suggested he needed a new hobby. The high-profile relationship first came to light last June, following Belichick's departure from the Patriots in January where he had an illustrious 24-year career capped with six Super Bowl wins. In recent interviews, Belichick clarified that Hudson assists in managing his professional endeavors outside of his role with UNC football.
