Cards Against Humanity, the creator of the popular party game, has taken legal action against Elon Musk's aerospace company SpaceX for allegedly trespassing on and causing damage to company-owned property in Texas. The lawsuit, filed in a Texas court, seeks $15 million in damages, citing destruction of natural vegetation on a plot of land near Brownsville, Texas. The disputed land was purchased by Cards Against Humanity in 2017 as a means of obstructing then-President Donald Trump's proposed border wall project, which was never implemented on the property.

The lawsuit states that SpaceX, operating near the land as part of its Starbase operations, has been utilizing the Cards Against Humanity property without permission for approximately six months. The alleged unauthorized activities include clearing vegetation, parking vehicles, storing materials, and running generators. Cards Against Humanity claims that SpaceX's actions have not only damaged the natural state of the land but have also harmed the company's relationship with its supporters. The property had been acquired through a crowdfunding effort where 150,000 individuals contributed $15 each, with Cards Against Humanity intending to distribute any funds awarded in the lawsuit back to these donors, up to $100 per person.

Despite efforts from Cards Against Humanity to address the trespassing and damage with SpaceX, the response received was described as a "lowball offer" to purchase the land for less than its appraised value. The offer came with a 12-hour deadline for acceptance, which Cards Against Humanity declined. The lawsuit, which includes visual evidence of the land before and after the alleged intrusion by SpaceX, highlights the stark contrast in land usage portrayed in the images. SpaceX, a prominent player in the space launch industry, has established a significant presence in Texas, with operations expanding and attracting attention for both its technological advancements and controversy surrounding environmental concerns and market dominance.
