Kind-hearted Minnesota Man Killed in UPS Uniformed Home Invasion

A tragic incident unfolded in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, where 20-year-old Jorge Reyes-Jungwirth and his family were fatally shot during a house invasion. Reyes-Jungwirth, described as a caring and compassionate person, happened to be at home due to an unexpected day off from work. The incident took place last Friday just after noon when an individual posing as a UPS worker gained access to their residence, according to prosecutors' statements in a criminal complaint.

Reyes-Jungwirth resided with his mother, Shannon Patricia Jungwirth, and stepfather, Mario Alberto Trejo Estrada. Court documents confirm that two young children under the age of 5, said to be Reyes-Jungwirth's siblings, were present during the attack but were fortunately unharmed.

A hardworking employee at a tree removal company, Reyes-Jungwirth would typically have been at work on a Friday afternoon. However, his boss had advised him to take the following day off due to a slow work schedule. Isaiah Mendez, a friend and colleague, explained that Reyes-Jungwirth had informed their gaming group about his day off, expressing his happiness about it.

Known for his devotion to his family, Reyes-Jungwirth was always ready to assist his mother with errands and take care of his younger siblings. Described as an anime and video game aficionado, Reyes-Jungwirth had recently adopted a puppy who he adored.

Friends and loved ones recalled Reyes-Jungwirth's selflessness, always prioritizing others before himself. Will Gydesen, a friend since their high school football days, narrated how Reyes-Jungwirth's kindness extended even towards his puppy. Gydesen had played video games with him the night before his untimely death and became concerned when they didn't hear from him in the following days.

The suspect in the triple homicide, identified as 37-year-old Alonzo Mingo, has been charged with three counts of second-degree intentional murder. Prosecutors allege that Mingo, disguised as a UPS delivery worker, was captured on surveillance footage driving to the victims' residence, entering their home, and demanding money at gunpoint.

The horrific video allegedly shows Mingo fatally shooting Jungwirth in the bedroom while the children were nearby. The bodies of Trejo Estrada and Reyes-Jungwirth were found in different locations within the house. Authorities are still determining the motive behind the shootings.

Recent reports have revealed that Trejo Estrada may have been involved in drug trafficking and sending large sums of money to Mexico. A search warrant affidavit connected to the investigation unveiled the discovery of illicit substances, including psilocybin mushrooms, marijuana, methamphetamine, and an unidentified white powder, in a storage unit rented by Trejo Estrada.

Friends of Reyes-Jungwirth emphasized that he was not engaged in any illicit activities and regarded him as an ambitious individual with dreams of owning a house. Close acquaintances remember him as a positive and joyful person who always sought to uplift those around him.

A candlelight vigil was held on Monday night to commemorate Reyes-Jungwirth, his mother, and stepfather. Gydesen expressed the void left in their group of friends without Reyes-Jungwirth, highlighting his loving and selfless nature.

The investigation into this tragic event is ongoing as authorities work to uncover the full details surrounding the motive and circumstances of the home invasion.
