Law enforcement personnel are conducting an intense manhunt for Robert Card, the suspect involved in a deadly mass shooting that unfolded in Lewiston, Maine, on Wednesday night. As authorities continue their search efforts, dive teams have begun scouring the Androscoggin River for any sign of the 40-year-old suspect.

The shooting rampage began around 6:56 pm at a bowling alley, where Card launched the initial attack, leaving seven people dead. Just 12 minutes later, he struck again at a bar and restaurant located four miles away. The communities of Lewiston and surrounding areas have been left shocked and devastated in the aftermath of the tragedy.

Card's vehicle, a white Subaru station wagon, was discovered at a boat launch on the Androscoggin River in Lisbon. Law enforcement officials believe that the river may hold crucial clues and have enlisted the help of divers to thoroughly search the water.

In a press briefing, authorities confirmed that Card remains on the run, describing him as a 40-year-old man with a history of schizophrenia. The urgency to search the river stems from the fact that Card's vehicle was found at the boat ramp, indicating the possibility that he may have sought refuge or made an escape through the waterways.

To aid the search efforts, the power company managing two dams on the Androscoggin River has agreed to slow down the current, making it easier for dive teams to navigate and conduct their searches.

Card's background and residence in the small town of Bowdoin have come under scrutiny. According to neighbors, the Card family's properties were described as a "compound," and they were known to be "gun-toting enthusiasts." One neighbor recalled an unsettling incident where he had encountered Card covered in blood with a gun after a hunting trip.

Law enforcement agencies are leaving no stone unturned in their attempts to apprehend the suspect. Drones have been deployed, and the search has extended beyond state borders, as authorities caution the nation to remain vigilant until Card is captured.

As the manhunt continues, the residents of Lewiston and surrounding areas remain on high alert, hoping for a swift resolution to this tragic incident.
