The harrowing incident came to light on November 25, when the man sought medical assistance at the Cuba Friendship Hospital in Dong Hoi, complaining of persistent headaches, fluid discharge, and loss of sensation.

CT scans conducted by the medical team revealed a condition known as tension pneumocephalus, a rare and potentially life-threatening condition that results in increased intracranial pressure. Led by the skilled Dr. Nguyen Van Man, the doctors discovered that the root of the problem lay in a startling discovery - a pair of chopsticks that had penetrated the man's nose and entered his brain.

Remarkably, the patient was able to recall a hazy memory of being involved in a fight approximately five months prior, during which he was drinking. Although the details of the altercation were foggy, he vaguely remembered being stabbed in the face, with the chopsticks possibly being the weapon used. However, when he initially visited the hospital following the fight, medical professionals did not find any evidence of chopsticks or abnormalities in his nose. Nonetheless, the patient had continued to suspect that the utensils had been lodged in his nasal cavity since the altercation, remaining undiscovered yet causing him immense suffering.

Thankfully, the doctors successfully performed an endoscopic surgery to remove the chopsticks and seal a fistula in the patient's brain. As a result, his condition improved, and he is reported to be in stable condition, eagerly awaiting discharge from the hospital.
