King Charles, 75, will not be carrying out any royal engagements for up to a month as he recuperates from prostate surgery in a London hospital. The monarch underwent a successful operation for an enlarged prostate on Friday and is said to be doing well.

The surgery took place at The London Clinic, where King Charles is currently spending his second night recovering. It is expected that he will have a period of recuperation before resuming his duties. However, once he is discharged, he will be able to attend to government papers.

The exact duration of Charles' hospital stay is unknown, but reports suggest that he may remain there over the weekend. Queen Camilla, the King's wife, visited him yesterday and again today, showing her support during his recovery. She appeared to be in high spirits, wearing a teal-colored top and arriving in a black Audi car.

The Queen's visit to the private hospital marked her third since Charles' admission. During her three-hour stay, she shared that the King was "doing well" after the procedure. Camilla's presence at the hospital coincided with her daughter-in-law, Kate, who is also undergoing treatment at the same facility.

Benign prostate enlargement, also known as benign prostatic hyperplasia, is a common condition in men over 50. It can affect urination by causing the prostate gland to grow in size. While many men may not experience any issues, medical interventions may be necessary if the enlargement puts pressure on the bladder or urethra, or if there is a risk of urinary tract infection.

The Buckingham Palace spokesperson confirmed that the King was admitted to the hospital for scheduled treatment. Charles has been known for his workaholic tendencies, often spending long hours dealing with official papers. However, his doctors advised him to rest and undergo the corrective procedure.

The King's diagnosis has also had a positive impact on public health awareness. The NHS England website saw a significant increase in visits to its page on "enlarged prostate" following the announcement of Charles' condition, highlighting the importance of raising awareness about men's health.

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak extended his well wishes to Charles for a speedy recovery. The 75-year-old monarch was diagnosed with benign prostate enlargement during a check-up in Aberdeenshire on January 17. Following the diagnosis, he postponed his planned engagements and returned to London for the surgery.

With Charles taking a break from royal duties, his wife, Queen Camilla, is expected to continue representing the royal family during his absence. The King's recovery is being closely monitored, and updates will be provided as necessary.

In the meantime, the focus remains on Charles' health and well-being, as the nation sends their best wishes for his speedy recovery.
