King Charles III and Queen Camilla bid a fond farewell to South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol and his wife Kim Keon Hee after their three-day state visit to the United Kingdom. The royal couple shared warm handshakes and exchanged smiles with the South Korean President as they posed for photos at Buckingham Palace.

During their visit, Queen Camilla looked effortlessly elegant in a sapphire blue ensemble from Fiona Clare, while Kim Keon Hee showcased a sophisticated style with a cream blazer and skirt, paired with a mustard yellow blouse. King Charles III donned a dapper outfit featuring pinstripe trousers, a fitted waistcoat, and a pastel pink tie, while President Yoon Suk Yeol opted for a classic black suit.

The state visit, which marked the 140th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and the UK, was filled with glitzy banquets and cultural tours. The festivities began with a festive Horse Guards Parade and culminated in a grand state banquet at Buckingham Palace, where King Charles III delivered a heartfelt speech.

In his speech, the monarch praised Korea's remarkable journey, highlighting the country's technological creativity and artistic accomplishments. He also commended Korea's commitment to environmental sustainability and acknowledged the close ties between the Korean and UK armed forces. The King proposed a toast to the next 140 years of Korean-British relations, which received an unprecedented round of applause.

The visit comes as the UK and South Korea aim to expand their existing free trade agreement to include digital trade. The Business and Trade Secretary, Kemi Badenoch, launched talks to widen the trade deal at the UK-Korea Business Forum in London. The upgraded agreement is expected to benefit 7,000 British businesses exporting goods to South Korea and attract £21 billion in investments from Korean businesses in green energy and infrastructure projects across the UK.

The original free trade deal, secured in 2019, aimed to ensure smooth trade flow post-Brexit. The new agreement will focus on digital provisions, benefiting the UK's services sector and supporting small businesses by simplifying customs procedures. Luxury car manufacturer Bentley and drinks giant Diageo are expected to announce contracts worth over £200 million in South Korea this year.

King Charles III and Queen Camilla's warm farewell to President Yoon Suk Yeol and Kim Keon Hee marks the end of a successful state visit, strengthening the ties between the UK and South Korea. As both countries look ahead to increased trade and cooperation, they aim to build upon the strong foundation of their diplomatic relationship.
