In a shocking incident caught on camera, staff at Farley's East, a coffee shop in Oakland, California, blocked a Jewish woman from documenting anti-Semitic graffiti in their restroom. The incident occurred when the woman noticed graffiti that read 'Zionism = Fascism' and 'your neutrality is enabling genocide' and attempted to take pictures of it.

Three staff members can be seen in the video attempting to prevent the woman from entering the restroom, claiming it was private property. One staff member even made a distasteful comment, saying, 'I know Israel loves taking private property and saying it's their own, but we gotta head.' The woman expressed her disbelief and frustration, questioning why she was being denied access to the restroom.

The altercation escalated as the woman asked why they were afraid of her capturing evidence of the graffiti if they agreed with its message. After persistent pressure, the staff reluctantly allowed her to enter the restroom. As she filmed the graffiti, one employee shouted, 'History didn't start in 1948, lady,' in reference to the establishment of the State of Israel.

Once the woman had obtained footage of the graffiti, she was ushered out of the bathroom while the staff shouted 'Free Palestine' at her.

Following public backlash, Farley's East issued a public apology and acknowledged the incident in a statement on Facebook. They confirmed that the graffiti had been removed and emphasized that hate speech does not reflect their values. The café also stated that they have taken corrective measures with their staff.

The incident at Farley's East underscores the presence of anti-Semitic sentiment and the need for greater awareness and education regarding religious tolerance and respect. It serves as a reminder that discrimination of any kind should not be tolerated in society.
