### Trump Administration Pressures Agencies to Cut Ties with Harvard Over Alleged Discrimination
The Trump administration has urged federal agencies to sever their contracts with Harvard University amid escalating tensions over billions of dollars essential to the prestigious institution. The recommendation follows accusations by the General Services Administration (GSA) that Harvard practices racial discrimination in admissions and other campus matters.
In a letter dated Tuesday, Josh Gruenbaum, the commissioner of the Federal Acquisition Service at the GSA, advised federal procurement officials to review their current contracts with Harvard. Gruenbaum suggested that agencies should "terminate for convenience each contract that it determines has failed to meet its standards" and consider alternative vendors. He also encouraged agencies to seek new vendors for future services that would have previously involved Harvard. The GSA has asked for agencies' plans regarding Harvard-related contracts to be reported by June 6.
This development is part of ongoing hostilities between President Donald Trump and Harvard University. Recently, a federal judge temporarily blocked the Trump administration's efforts to revoke Harvard's ability to enroll foreign students. The decision was made after the university claimed that the administration's actions were unconstitutional retaliations.
Adding to the conflict, President Trump hinted on Monday at the possibility of reallocating three billion dollars in grant money from Harvard to trade schools, a move he suggested might better serve educational needs across the country. Harvard has yet to comment on this series of recent actions and proposals.
