Iran's Navy has launched a new combat and training flotilla, consisting of the Bushehr and Tunb warships, on a significant mission. The fleet set sail from the southern port city of Bandar Abbas in a ceremony attended by Rear Admiral Shahram Irani.
During the ceremony, Admiral Irani emphasized the flotilla's "heavy and multidimensional mission." He highlighted that the Navy cadets on board will receive training to prepare them for future responsibilities. Despite various plots by enemies, the Iranian naval forces have maintained an active presence in high seas and oceans, the admiral added.
Admiral Irani also mentioned recent major operations conducted by the Iranian Navy, including the seizure of a US oil tanker in the Sea of Oman. He reaffirmed the commitment of the Iranian Armed Forces and Navy to defending national interests.
Simultaneously with the deployment of the new fleet, four Iranian combat flotillas are currently sailing in international waters, according to the Iranian Navy commander. This demonstrates Iran's increasing presence in international waters, aimed at safeguarding naval routes and ensuring the security of merchant vessels and tankers.
Over the years, Iran's Navy has achieved self-sufficiency in manufacturing both surface and sub-surface vessels. In line with its goal of enhancing national security, the Navy has expanded its presence in remote waters such as the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, as stated by Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the leader of the Islamic Revolution.
The dispatch of this new combat flotilla marks another milestone for Iran's Navy, demonstrating its capabilities and commitment to protect its national interests in the face of potential threats.
