In an ongoing search for a 3-year-old boy who vanished last month, Wisconsin police have made a significant breakthrough. They have confirmed that a blanket found during the investigation belongs to the missing youngster, Elijah Vue. The red and white plaid blanket was discovered approximately 3.7 miles away from where Elijah was reported missing on February 20.

The search for Elijah Vue has been a top priority for Two Rivers police, with extensive efforts from both law enforcement officers and the local community. Despite their dedicated search efforts, the young boy remains missing. In a Facebook post on Monday, Two Rivers police revealed that the reward for any information leading to Elijah's whereabouts has now increased to $40,000.

Elijah was last seen at a residence in Two Rivers, where his mother, Katrina Baur, had sent him to stay with her boyfriend. Katrina Baur herself has faced legal consequences in relation to the disappearance of her son. Last month, Baur was initially charged with one felony count of party-to-a-crime child neglect and two misdemeanor counts of resisting or obstructing an officer. However, prosecutors have since amended the felony charge to party-to-a-crime chronic child neglect, adding a misdemeanor charge of neglecting a child as well. Baur is currently being held on a $15,000 cash bond.

According to a criminal complaint, Baur, 31, entrusted her son's care to her boyfriend, Jesse Vang, 39, on February 12, with the intention of teaching Elijah "to be a man." However, Vang called the police on February 20, reporting the boy missing. He claimed that he had taken a nap and brought Elijah into the bedroom with him, only to wake up three hours later and find the child gone. Vang has been charged with one felony count of party-to-a-crime child neglect and is being held on a $20,000 cash bond.

The discovery of Elijah's blanket signifies a vital clue in the ongoing investigation. Police, along with concerned individuals, continue their tireless search for the missing boy. The community remains hopeful that the increased reward and the progress made in the case will finally bring Elijah Vue back home safe and sound.
