### Search Underway for Murder Suspect in Leavenworth, Wash, as Enchantment Areas Closed

Authorities have closed the Enchantments and adjacent regions around Leavenworth, Wash, as they continue their search for Travis Decker, a suspect wanted in connection with the murder of three sisters. The tragic deaths of Paityn, Evelyn, and Olivia Decker were reported last weekend, and their bodies were found on Monday in the vicinity west of Leavenworth.

The closure spans a significant area beginning at the Snow Lakes Trailhead, encompassing several campgrounds and trails to establish a wide perimeter for the search operations. Major affected campgrounds include Eightmile, Bridge Creek, and Blackpine Horse Camp. Additionally, key trails such as Trail No. 1553 Snow Lakes and Trail No. 1599 Stuart Lake are also off-limits to the public until further notice.

Chelan County Sheriff Mike Morrison emphasized the challenges in capturing Decker, noting that he has a history of outdoor survival skills and has previously lived off the grid for extended periods. There is a possibility that Decker had pre-planned his disappearance by hiding resources within the search area.

Ground and aerial search efforts are being conducted by the Chelan County Sheriff’s Office with support from various other agencies. On Wednesday morning, additional personnel from federal and local agencies arrived to intensify the search. Offers of support in the form of guide services, equipment, and horses have been pouring in from the community, including off-road vehicle enthusiasts and backcountry experts.
