Ukraine's Defence Minister, Rustem Umerov, voiced his country's struggles in the ongoing war with Russia, citing that "50%" of promised Western weapons had not reached Kyiv on time. Umerov expressed that delays in the supply of Western equipment have caused setbacks leading to territorial losses and casualties on the battlefield. Russia has reportedly spent $150 billion on its all-out attack on Ukraine, which amounts to 15% of its entire GDP.

Despite facing challenges in receiving promised F-16 jets from international coalition partners, including the Netherlands, Norway, and Belgium, Ukraine managed to regain control of the Black Sea using drones to sink Russian warships. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy is set to outline Ukraine's strategy to overcome Russia in the ongoing conflict. Umerov, who has been in his position since September, highlighted the importance of combating corruption in the midst of war, stating, "For me corruption at a time of war is worse than terrorism."

Ukraine has significantly increased drone production, with plans to utilize home-produced drones as a primary defense method amid artillery shortages. Umerov emphasized the innovative nature of the current conflict, stating that this war marks the first instance where more than 8,000 missiles have been launched against Ukraine with extensive drone involvement. The country is also developing drones capable of targeting strategic locations deep inside Russia, showcasing its commitment to advancing its military capabilities amidst ongoing hostilities.
