### Intense Overnight Attacks by Russia on Ukraine Leave Several Wounded

In a series of night-time strikes early on Friday, Russia launched ballistic missiles and drones at various targets across Ukraine, injuring at least three individuals, according to Ukrainian officials. Explosions were heard across Kyiv, prompting fires in multiple districts as air defenses attempted to neutralize incoming threats, stated Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv city administration.

Authorities have confirmed damage in multiple areas, with rescue teams actively responding. Residents were strongly urged to seek shelter amidst the chaos. Among the chaos, a residential building in the Solomyanskyi district of Kyiv caught fire, leading to the evacuation of three individuals. Firefighters continue to work at the scene, while another blaze was reported in a metal warehouse.

Not limited to Kyiv, the Chernihiv region also faced attacks. A Shahed drone explosion near an apartment building shattered windows and doors, while additional explosions from ballistic missiles were reported on the outskirts of the city, noted Dmytro Bryzhynskyi, the region's military administration chief.

The attacks come in the wake of Russia's accusations against Kyiv of state terrorism. Kyiv’s recent drone operation targeted Russian heavy bombers stationed at air bases in Siberia and the far north. Moscow had vowed to retaliate in its own time and manner.

Additional developments include statements from US President Donald Trump, who said he spoke with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday. Trump reportedly advised Putin to exercise restraint, though he anticipated Moscow’s inevitable response to Ukraine's drone strikes.

On a related note, the International Atomic Energy Agency reported hearing gunfire at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear plant aimed at drones, though no damage was reported to the training center at the site.

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz met with Trump in the Oval Office, urging increased pressure on Russia to end the conflict. Meanwhile, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un expressed his full support for Russia during talks with Sergei Shoigu, a high-ranking Russian security official, according to North Korean state media.

The US embassy in Ukraine has issued warnings about the ongoing risk of significant airstrikes, advising American citizens to remain cautious. As the conflict continues, the toll on both infrastructure and civilians grows ever more severe.
