**Samuel L. Jackson Joins Taylor Sheridan's Universe With New Series 'NOLA King'**
Samuel L. Jackson, the Oscar-nominated actor and iconic star of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is set to headline his own series on Paramount+, diving into the TV world crafted by Taylor Sheridan. Jackson will take center stage in "NOLA King," a new project reportedly spun off from the hit series "Tulsa King" starring Sylvester Stallone.
Written by Dave Erickson, the creator behind "Mayor of Kingstown", "NOLA King" will introduce Jackson as Russell Lee Washington Jr., a character embedded in organized crime much like Stallone’s Dwight “The General” Manfredi. Before leading his own series, Jackson’s character is expected to make significant appearances in the third season of "Tulsa King," facing off against Stallone's character in Tulsa before moving on to New Orleans.
Production for the third season of "Tulsa King" has been ongoing in locations such as Atlanta and Oklahoma, with Jackson scheduled to begin filming his episodes in July. The commencement of production for "NOLA King" is anticipated for February next year.
Erickson, who juggles his role as showrunner both for "Tulsa King" and "Mayor of Kingstown," will also serve as the writer, executive producer, and showrunner for "NOLA King." The prolific Taylor Sheridan and David C. Glasser from 101 Studios are among the executive producers.
The inception of "NOLA King" is credited to Chris McCarthy, President and CEO of Showtime and MTV Entertainment Studios, who envisions expanding the "Tulsa King" universe similarly to how "Yellowstone" has branched out with several offshoots. Paramount+ has already seen considerable success with "Tulsa King", especially its Season 2 opener, which drew 21.1 million global streaming viewers, setting a new record for the platform.
Samuel L. Jackson's addition to Sheridan's expanding television landscape places him among a roster of notable stars, including Kevin Costner, Jeremy Renner, Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren, Nicole Kidman, and Zoe Saldaña, each attached to various series within the Sheridan universe.
As Jackson gears up for his new role, fans are eager to see how this latest addition to the "Tulsa King" franchise unfolds and to witness Jackson's undeniable screen presence in a fresh and thrilling context.
