In an exciting development for fans of "Tulsa King," a new spinoff titled "NOLA King" is now in the works at Paramount+, with Samuel L. Jackson set to lead and executive produce. Sources reveal that Jackson will make a guest appearance in the third season of Taylor Sheridan's "Tulsa King," setting the stage for the New Orleans-based series.
Although specific plot details for "NOLA King" are still being kept under wraps, it is confirmed that Jackson will portray a character akin to Sylvester Stallone's Dwight "The General" Manfredi in "Tulsa King." Dave Erickson, a key collaborator with Sheridan on "Tulsa King" and "Mayor of Kingstown," will take on the roles of writer, showrunner, and executive producer for the new series. Sheridan and David C. Glasser of 101 Studios are also on board as executive producers, with MTV Entertainment Studios handling production.
Currently, the third season of "Tulsa King" is in production in Atlanta and Oklahoma. The original series features Stallone as a New York mobster who is sent to Oklahoma by his former crime family after 25 years in prison. There, he quickly rebuilds his criminal empire, establishing himself in the local underworld.
"Tulsa King" is the brainchild of Taylor Sheridan, who serves as the show's creator and an executive producer. Stallone, Erickson, and Glasser are joined by other executive producers, including Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Braden Aftergood, Jim McKay, Sheri Elwood, Ildy Modrovich, and Keith Cox. Like "NOLA King," the original series is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios in collaboration with 101 Studios.
