Superstar rapper Travis Scott, whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster, was arrested in Miami early Thursday on charges of disorderly intoxication and trespassing, as confirmed by jail records. The incident took place at the Miami Beach Marina.
According to the Miami Beach Police Department, Scott was allegedly "yelling obscenities" at someone on a yacht while exhibiting signs of intoxication. The person on the yacht did not press charges but requested that Scott be removed from the vessel. Consequently, police instructed Scott to leave the dock or face arrest.
At first, Scott complied with the order, but he returned to the marina just five minutes later, walking back towards the boat and becoming increasingly agitated. This prompted officers to take him into custody as he exhibited erratic behavior and continued to yell. The police report stated that Scott admitted to drinking and attributed his actions to the atmosphere in Miami.
After being booked at 4:35 a.m., Scott posted a bond of $650 and was subsequently released. A written not guilty plea was submitted on Scott's behalf in response to the misdemeanor charges against him.
Following his release, the rapper took to social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) and simply wrote, "Lol." Scott also shared a meme featuring his mugshot, appearing to wear earbuds, on his Instagram story.
A source close to Scott stated that there was no physical altercation during the incident and characterized it as a rowdy party. They also expressed doubt that any further action would be taken, likening it to receiving a ticket.
ABC News has reached out to Scott's representatives for comment on the situation. Scott, who shares two children with Kylie Jenner, is scheduled to embark on his "Circus Maximus Tour" in Europe next week, beginning with performances in the Netherlands on June 28 and June 30. The tour will continue throughout July and early August, with a performance at the Rock in Rio music festival in Brazil scheduled for September 13.
It is worth noting that this is not the first time Scott has faced legal troubles. In March 2023, an arrest warrant was issued by the NYPD following a fight at a New York City nightclub where he was performing. Scott allegedly punched a sound engineer and caused damage to sound equipment, leading to a settlement with the club but no arrest.
As this recent incident unfolds, fans and industry insiders remain curious about the impact it may have on Travis Scott's upcoming tour and his ongoing legal issues.
