**Bengals Fall Short in Critical Matchup, Cardinals and Jets Defy Expectations, and Bears Rookie QB Shines**

The Cincinnati Bengals faced significant pressure to secure a win, understanding that a 2-3 record enhances playoff prospects far more than 1-4. Despite holding a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter and recovering a Lamar Jackson fumble in OT, they couldn't finish the job. Post-game, a clearly frustrated Joe Burrow bluntly assessed his team’s performance.

"We're not a championship-level team right now. We're not," Burrow stated, as reported by ESPN's Ben Baby. "I hope we can improve throughout the season, but right now, we need to get better."

The Bengals' defense has been a major issue, allowing more than 365 yards per game and the most points in the AFC. Their struggles were highlighted by conceding 520 yards to the Ravens. Though Burrow is healthy and Ja'Marr Chase is excelling, the defense's inability to contain opponents is making every game a challenge.

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Chargers entered their bye week with a 2-2 record following a tough loss to the Chiefs. Last season, their defense was porous, allowing the fifth most yards in the league. This year, they’ve improved to rank seventh in total defense. Defensive lineman Morgan Fox emphasized the unit's determination not to be overpowered, aiming for the D-line to be recognized as a formidable part of the team.

In a surprising turnaround, the Arizona Cardinals upset the defending NFC champions, the San Francisco 49ers, just a week after a heavy loss to the Washington Commanders. Quarterback Kyler Murray led the charge, passing for 195 yards and a touchdown, and rushing for 83 yards and another score, including a 50-yard run. Despite wishing they could have ended the game without giving the ball back, Murray praised kicker Chad for sealing the win.

On another front, the New York Jets had hoped that the addition of Aaron Rodgers would elevate their performance. However, in London, Rodgers threw two interceptions in the first quarter—one for a touchdown—and three overall. Sacked eight times in the past two weeks, Rodgers has also been dealing with a low ankle sprain. With the division-leading Bills approaching, questions linger about the Jets’ offensive line and ground game.

Finally, Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels isn't the only young QB making waves; Caleb Williams of the Chicago Bears had a standout performance in a 36-10 victory over the Carolina Panthers. Williams completed 20 of 29 passes for 304 yards and two touchdowns. Bears' head coach Matt Eberflus lauded Williams for his progress, and analyst Knox highlighted the team's improving defense and newfound offensive rhythm. With another winnable game against the Jaguars in London, the Bears are poised to enter their bye week on a high note.
