In the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, the New York Giants are contemplating a trade back from the No. 6 spot, according to various draft experts. This decision comes as the Giants' General Manager, Joe Schoen, aims to address the multiple holes on the team's roster with limited draft selections.

The smart move, as suggested by ESPN's Bill Barnwell in his latest all-trade mock draft, would be for the Giants to trade their No. 6 pick to the Buffalo Bills. In this proposed scenario, the Giants would receive a first-rounder (No. 28), a second-rounder (No. 60), a fourth-rounder (No. 128), a 2025 first-round pick (via Texans), and a 2026 third-round pick. This five-for-one deal would provide Schoen with ample opportunity to acquire top talent in both this year's draft and the following year.

If the trade were to materialize, the Giants would possess six picks in the first four rounds of this year's draft (Nos. 28, 47, 60, 70, 107, and 128), totaling to eight picks overall. This abundance of picks would offer Schoen more possibilities to strengthen the team across various positions.

Barnwell speculates that the Bills, who have a need for wide receivers after losing Gabe Davis in free agency and trading Stefon Diggs, may be willing to make a blockbuster deal in order to secure a top wideout. This move could be akin to the Atlanta Falcons' acquisition of Julio Jones in 2011. The Bills reportedly have their sights set on talented receivers like Malik Nabers, Rome Odunze, or Marvin Harrison Jr., all of whom could potentially be available at the Giants' No. 6 spot.

While the trade proposal may seem risky for the Bills, who would be surrendering significant draft capital, it holds benefits for both teams involved. The Giants would still have the opportunity to acquire top offensive weapons at wide receiver, tight end, and running back, while also bolstering the defense with a cornerback and defensive lineman.

It remains to be seen what decisions the Giants will make with their picks in this mock draft, as Barnwell's exercise focused solely on trade proposals. Nevertheless, this potential trade presents the Giants with a valuable opportunity to secure key assets and strengthen their roster.
