### Patriots' Jabrill Peppers Placed on Commissioner's Exempt List Following Arrest
In a significant development, the NFL disclosed on Wednesday that New England Patriots safety Jabrill Peppers has been added to the commissioner's exempt list. This decision came after Peppers' arrest in the early hours of last Saturday, following a domestic incident at his residence in Braintree, Massachusetts.
The 29-year-old athlete was arraigned on Monday at Quincy District Court. He faces multiple charges including assault and battery on an intimate partner, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, strangulation, and possession of a Class B substance suspected to be cocaine. Peppers entered a not guilty plea to all charges and subsequently posted a $2,500 bail. He opted to waive his right to appear at the next hearing scheduled for November 22. Additionally, the court has ordered him to avoid any contact with the alleged female victim.
"We informed the NFL and we're still gathering information," stated Patriots head coach Jerod Mayo in a video conference on Monday. "I know the team put out a statement earlier. I'm not sure how the league and how we are going to handle that going forward. We should find out some more information over the next few days."
Peppers was already dealing with a shoulder injury and had limited practice participation last week. He was downgraded from questionable to out before the Patriots' 15-10 loss to the Miami Dolphins.
While on the commissioner's exempt list, Peppers is still permitted to attend team meetings, workouts, and receive treatments at the club's facility, although he won't count against the active 53-man roster.
