Multiple Individuals Shot Near SEPTA Bus Station in Northeast Philadelphia

In a shocking incident, at least seven people were wounded in a shooting near a SEPTA bus station at Rising Sun and Cottman avenues in Northeast Philadelphia on Wednesday afternoon, according to local authorities. The School District of Philadelphia has reported that among the injured are at least seven children, however, the ages of the victims have not yet been confirmed by the police.
The incident occurred shortly before 3 p.m., causing panic and chaos in the area. Police have not released any information regarding the motive or identities of the shooter(s) at this time. It remains unclear if there were multiple shooters involved.
SEPTA, the local transportation authority, revealed that the shooting took place at the intersection of Rising Sun Avenue and Loney Street, where a Route 18 bus traveling west on Rising Sun Avenue and St. Vincents Street found itself caught in the crossfire. Fortunately, no passengers on the bus were harmed during the incident.
Law enforcement agencies swiftly responded to the scene, establishing a secure perimeter and launching an investigation into the shooting. Paramedics and emergency medical services were also dispatched to the area to provide immediate medical assistance to the victims.
