Noelia Voigt, the reigning Miss USA 2023, announced her resignation from the prestigious title on Monday, citing mental health as the reason for her decision. The news was confirmed by the official Miss USA Instagram account in a separate post.

In an Instagram message, Voigt expressed the importance of prioritizing personal well-being and mental health. She shared her appreciation for the support she received throughout her tenure, representing Utah with pride and later the United States at the Miss Universe pageant.

Voigt reflected on her favorite moments as Miss USA and highlighted the causes she was passionate about, including her work with Smile Train, advocacy against bullying and dating violence, immigration rights and reform, and her proud Venezuelan-American heritage as the first woman of her background to win the Miss USA title.

Although her resignation came as a surprise to many, Voigt emphasized the significance of valuing one's mental and physical well-being. She assured her followers that this is just the beginning of a new chapter for her and encouraged others to prioritize their mental health and be unafraid of embracing the future.

The Miss USA and Miss Teen USA organizations also addressed the news, thanking Voigt for her service and expressing their understanding and support for her decision to step down. The organizations acknowledged that the well-being of their titleholders is a top priority and revealed that they are in the process of planning for a smooth transition to a new Miss USA.

Noelia Voigt, with ambitions for a career in interior design and as a television host focusing on giving back to families in need, has been an advocate for important immigration issues, being the child of a Venezuelan immigrant herself. She is also the author of a children's book titled "Maddie the Brave," published in 2020.

Noelia Voigt was crowned as the 72nd Miss USA in a ceremony held in Reno, Nevada on September 23, 2023. Her resignation marks the end of her reign, paving the way for the announcement of the new Miss USA titleholder in the near future.
