In a surprising turn of events, Karen Pittman will not be returning for the highly anticipated third season of the Sex and the City spin-off series, And Just Like That. The beloved actor, known for her portrayal of Professor Nya Wallace, had become a fan-favorite during the show's first two seasons. Her departure is attributed to scheduling conflicts, as reported by Variety.

A spokesperson for the streaming service Max expressed their gratitude for Pittman's contribution to the show, stating, "It has been a joy to have Karen Pittman play the smart and stunning Professor Nya Wallace on the first two seasons of And Just Like That. As we have thoroughly enjoyed working with this dynamic actress, so too have others."

Unfortunately, Pittman's commitments to two other streamer series have made it evident that filming three shows simultaneously poses a significant challenge. Thus, the production team had to make the difficult decision to let go of the character of Professor Nya Wallace for the upcoming third season.

The statement from Max also conveyed the disappointment felt by the team, saying, "Due to the production realities, we are disappointed to announce that scheduling conflicts will not allow us to continue with this character as part of Season 3 of And Just Like That. Karen and Nya will be missed, and her Max family and fans will all be cheering her on in her other endeavors."

This news comes on the heels of reports that Sara Ramírez, who portrayed the controversial character Che Diaz, will also not be returning for the next season of And Just Like That. The series, set years after the events of Sex and the City, has been eagerly anticipated by fans as several original cast members reprise their iconic roles, including Sarah Jessica Parker as Carrie Bradshaw, Cynthia Nixon as Miranda Hobbes, and Kristin Davis as Charlotte York. However, Kim Cattrall's absence, who played the beloved Samantha Jones, has been sorely felt.

Criticism of the show has also been mounting. In a scathing review by Adam White of The Independent, And Just Like That was described as "the worst show on television." White expressed disappointment with the second season, stating, "Cattrall ended up dodging a bullet - over the course of its frustrating, punishing and routinely inexplicable second season, And Just Like That has become the worst show on television."

Fans of the series are now left to ponder the future direction of And Just Like That without Karen Pittman's Professor Nya Wallace. While the loss is undoubtedly disheartening, supporters remain hopeful for Pittman's continued success in her other endeavors.
