### Former Football Star Julian Fleming Critically Injured, Girlfriend Killed in ATV Accident
Tragedy struck on Friday evening when former Ohio State and Penn State wide receiver Julian Fleming was seriously injured in an ATV accident that claimed the life of his girlfriend, Alyssa Boyd.
The Pennsylvania State Police reported that Fleming and Boyd were riding an ATV when a deer suddenly jumped into their path. The collision occurred just after 8 p.m. Neither Fleming nor Boyd were wearing safety equipment at the time of the accident. Fleming sustained severe injuries and was promptly transported to Guthrie Troy Community Hospital. Tragically, Boyd suffered extensive injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities confirmed that a recently deceased deer was found at the crash site, consistent with the damage seen on the ATV.
Alyssa Boyd was 23 years old. Multiple reports indicate that Fleming and Boyd were in a relationship.
Julian Fleming, 24, had a notable college football career. He spent four seasons at Ohio State University before transferring to Penn State for the 2024 season. During his time with the Buckeyes, he recorded 79 catches for 963 yards and seven touchdowns. In 2024, playing for the Nittany Lions, Fleming made 14 receptions for 176 yards and one touchdown. His standout season was in 2022, where he amassed 34 catches for 533 yards and six touchdowns, ranking third on the team in receiving touchdowns behind Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka.
Fleming, a Pennsylvania native, was a highly touted prospect in the class of 2020. He was ranked as the No. 1 wide receiver in his class and the top recruit in the state. He committed to Ohio State in May 2019.
This tragic incident marks a somber moment in Fleming’s life as he continues to recover from his injuries while mourning the loss of his girlfriend.
