In a stunning first look, actor Glen Powell appears nearly unrecognizable in the upcoming Hulu series "Chad Powers." The show, which was ordered by the streaming platform in February, sees Powell taking on the lead role while also serving as co-creator and co-writer, alongside Michael Waldron. Both Powell and Waldron will also act as executive producers for the series.

"Chad Powers" is based on the character of the same name, created by former NFL quarterback Eli Manning for his ESPN+ docuseries "Eli's Places." The series follows the story of Russ Holliday (played by Powell), a talented and charismatic college football player whose promising career is derailed by his own misbehavior. In a desperate attempt to salvage his future, Holliday disguises himself and joins a struggling Southern football team as Chad Powers.

Alongside Powell, the series boasts an impressive ensemble cast, including Steve Zahn, Toby Huss, Perry Mattfeld, Wynn Everett, Frankie A. Rodriguez, and Quentin Plair. Manning, along with his brother Peyton Manning through Omaha Productions, will serve as executive producers, along with Jamie Horowitz, Ben Brown, and Adam Fasullo of Waldron's Anomaly Pictures. 20th Television is the studio behind the show.

Interestingly, this is not Powell's first venture into writing. He previously co-wrote the screenplay for the upcoming action-comedy film "Hit Man" with Richard Linklater, in which he also stars. The film premiered at the Venice Film Festival and is set for a theatrical release on May 24, followed by its arrival on Netflix on June 7.

Powell's recent works have seen immense success. He starred in the romantic comedy "Anyone But You" alongside Sydney Sweeney, which has earned an impressive box office gross of nearly $200 million worldwide. Additionally, his role in the film "Twisters" has amassed over $335 million globally. Powell is also known for his part in the highly anticipated sequel "Top Gun: Maverick," as well as his performances in films such as "Hidden Figures" and "Everybody Wants Some."

Fans of Powell can now eagerly await his remarkable transformation in "Chad Powers," set to premiere on Hulu. With a talented cast and an intriguing premise, the series is sure to captivate audiences when it hits the small screen.
