**Freshman QB DJ Lagway Carted Off Field with Hamstring Injury in Florida-Georgia Game**

In a tense matchup at EverBank Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida's promising freshman quarterback DJ Lagway was taken off the field on a cart after sustaining a left hamstring injury during the first half against Georgia. Lagway's unfortunate slip on the turf led him directly into a tackle by Georgia's safety KJ Bolden, culminating in the injury that immediately had him clutching his hamstring.

The incident cast a shadow over the game, especially considering Lagway's recent performance which had been a significant boost for the Gators’ offense. Prior to his injury, Lagway managed to fire a 43-yard touchdown to Aidan Mizell, pushing Florida into a 7-3 lead against the No. 2 ranked Bulldogs. At the time of his exit, Florida was ahead 10-3.

The Gators were already reeling from the loss of their former starting quarterback, Graham Mertz, who sustained a season-ending ACL tear in his left knee during a narrow 23-17 defeat by Tennessee on October 12. Mertz's injury led to surgery, effectively bringing his college football career to a close.

Lagway hails from Willis, Texas, and had been showing immense promise until this setback. The entire Florida team gathered around as he was carted off the field, symbolizing the collective concern and support for their teammate during this challenging moment.
