The Edmonton Oilers are resolutely focused on maintaining their winning momentum as they retain the same lineup from their 4-3 overtime victory in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final. With a composed mindset, the Oilers prepare to take on the Florida Panthers once again on Friday night at Rogers Place, seeking to solidify a 2-0 series lead.

"It's just another hockey game, another playoff series," stated veteran forward Corey Perry, making his sixth appearance in the Cup Final. "It's business as usual. The stakes are high, and everyone understands what's at stake. You can't ride the emotional roller coaster; just go out there and play."

The Oilers clinched Game 1 in dramatic fashion in overtime after overcoming a daunting 3-1 deficit against the Panthers. Perry’s crucial pass during a power play set up the game-winning combination between Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl, highlighting the team's resilience and strategic prowess.

Despite the favorable start, the Oilers are aware of the challenges that lie ahead. Unlike the previous year's finals where they trailed 3-0 to the Panthers before forcing a Game 7, the Oilers are determined to remain composed and focus on each game individually.

"Every game is paramount," said goaltender Stuart Skinner, who boasts a 6-0 record in his last six starts. "The series situation doesn't matter; what matters is the game right in front of you. We’re looking forward to tonight; it’s a fantastic opportunity to show our talent and determination."

In Wednesday night's clash, Skinner displayed exceptional skill by making 29 saves out of 32 shots. His performance was particularly notable during the second period, stopping 16 attempts despite conceding an early goal to Sam Bennett and another slapshot by Viktor Arvidsson that tightened the score to 3-2.

Heading into the final moments, the Oilers managed to stay steadfast and executed their game plan flawlessly. Mattias Ekholm’s equalizing goal at 12:27 in the third period set the stage for a power play in the overtime period, where Draisaitl's goal from McDavid's pass sealed the victory for Edmonton.

Perry emphasized the team's calm approach, saying, "There’s no panic. We stick to our game, and results will follow. After getting the second goal, we gained more life, and our strategy in the intermission worked out perfectly."

Having reached the Stanley Cup Final twice in the past four years, the Oilers have accumulated valuable experience in high-pressure scenarios. Their ability to rebound from multi-goal deficits and close game situations has become more refined with each passing season.

"We've continually improved our composure over the last few years," Skinner added. "We've been in tough spots many times and learnt the best ways to handle them as a unit. Each game we grow and get better, staying calm and focused because we know what needs to be done."

As the Oilers look to extend their series lead to 2-0, the excitement and expectations at Rogers Place are palpable. The projected lineup for Game 2 remains unchanged, featuring key players like Nugent-Hopkins, McDavid, Perry, Kane, Draisaitl, and others, ready to deliver another thrilling performance against the Panthers.
