**Tragic Cybertruck Crash Claims Three Lives, Leaves One Injured Near San Francisco**

In a devastating incident outside of San Francisco, a Tesla Cybertruck crash early Wednesday morning resulted in three fatalities and one injury. The vehicle collided and burst into flames in Piedmont, California, shortly after 3 a.m., as confirmed by Piedmont Police Chief Jeremy Bowers during a press conference.

The lone survivor, who has been hospitalized and is in stable condition, has not had their medical status disclosed further by the authorities. In respect to the grieving families, the police department is withholding the personal information of the victims at this time.

Police officers were promptly alerted to the incident through an emergency alert sent by one of the victim's iPhones, alongside a 911 call from a concerned member of the public. Upon arriving at the scene, the officers found the Cybertruck already engulfed in flames. An eyewitness, uninvolved in the crash, had bravely rescued the injured survivor from the wreckage.

Police Chief Bowers revealed that the four individuals in the vehicle were returning from a function; however, the nature of their relationship remains unclear. According to someone close to the victims' families, all four – three men and one woman – were graduates of Piedmont High School's class of 2023 and were known as popular soccer players now sophomores in college.

Chief Bowers indicated that speed was "one contributing factor" in the crash, but refrained from commenting on whether substances or car issues played a role. He noted there are currently no signs of a mechanical failure in the vehicle. Bowers expressed his condolences, emphasizing the tragic loss during the holiday season and extended heartfelt support to the affected families.

So far in 2023, Tesla has issued six recalls for the Cybertruck model, with the latest recall earlier this month addressing faulty parts that could result in a loss of drive power, potentially leading to accidents. Approximately 2,500 trucks were affected by this recall. In April, nearly 4,000 Cybertrucks were recalled to correct issues with a sticking accelerator pedal.
