**NFL Week 7 Fantasy Football Recap: Tank Bigsby Shines, Patriots' Backups Make Impact**
In an eventful NFL Week 7, plenty of players stood out with performances that are sure to influence fantasy football decisions heading into Week 8. Tank Bigsby emerged as a leading rusher for the Jacksonville Jaguars, while New England Patriots backups stepped up in the absence of key players, scoring crucial touchdowns.
Tank Bigsby Continues to Impress
Tank Bigsby put on another notable performance for the Jacksonville Jaguars, rushing for 90-plus yards for the third time in the last four weeks. With 26 carries, 118 yards, and two touchdowns, Bigsby is proving that he deserves to be the lead rusher for the Jaguars, especially with Travis Etienne out due to a hamstring injury. D'Ernest Johnson was initially given the start but primarily handled passing situations, while Bigsby took on the running duties, especially as the Jaguars shifted to a ground-focused attack after taking a 22-10 halftime lead.
Patriots' Backups Step Up Amid Injury Concerns
The New England Patriots had to rely on their backups in scoring situations this week. JaMycal Hasty scored the first touchdown for the Patriots as Antonio Gibson struggled with a knee injury. Gibson's condition limited his play to only three more snaps after his return, and JaMycal Hasty rotated in mainly during passing plays to rest Rhamondre Stevenson. Stevenson, who returned from an injury, managed to play more than usual but was held to seven carries for 18 yards and two receptions for seven yards.
In the receiving corps, DeMario Douglas dealt with an illness, and as a result, K.J. Osborn filled in as the slot receiver. With Douglas missing the second half and Ja'Lynn Polk out with a head injury late in the fourth quarter, the Patriots had to rely on a rotation that included Kayshon Boutte, Kendrick Bourne, and backup receivers like Tyquan Thornton or Javon Baker.
Other Noteworthy Performances
Several players across the league also turned in significant fantasy contributions. Brian Thomas Jr. collected five receptions for 89 yards and one touchdown. Kenneth Walker III had a strong game with 14 carries for 69 yards, a rushing touchdown, and added two receptions for 24 receiving yards and another touchdown. Bijan Robinson dazzled with 21 carries for 103 yards and a touchdown, along with three receptions for 40 receiving yards.
David Njoku was a standout at tight end, catching ten passes for 76 yards and a touchdown. Jonnu Smith also impressed, securing seven receptions for 96 yards and a touchdown. Other notable performances included Joe Mixon’s 25 carries for 115 yards and two touchdowns and Josh Jacobs’ 12 carries for 76 yards and a receiving touchdown.
As the season progresses, these performances are crucial for fantasy football managers to note, particularly with the potential changes in player usage and roles influenced by injuries and emerging talents.
