### Supreme Produce Recalls Cucumbers Due to Salmonella Contamination Linked to Outbreak

Cincinnati (WKRC) – Supreme Service Solutions LLC, operating under the name Supreme Produce, has issued a voluntary recall for cucumbers supplied by Bedner Growers Inc. This action follows the identification of potential Salmonella contamination. The recall specifically affects products distributed to Kroger and its associated stores across nine states, including Kentucky, Indiana, and Ohio.

The recall is the result of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) investigation that traced a Salmonella outbreak back to these cucumbers. So far, the outbreak has caused 26 illnesses across 15 states. The products under recall include fresh cucumbers and a variety of salad and vegetable trays containing fresh cucumbers.

Salmonella is known to cause severe infections, particularly in young children, the elderly, and individuals with weakened immune systems. Symptoms such as fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, and abdominal pain are commonly observed in healthy individuals, though the infection can occasionally lead to more severe conditions like arterial infections, endocarditis, and arthritis.

Supreme Produce has announced that there have been no reported illnesses or consumer complaints related to their products so far. Nevertheless, consumers are strongly advised to avoid eating the recalled cucumbers and dispose of them immediately. It is reported that these products are past their shelf life and should no longer be available in stores.
