### Recall Alert: Kirkland Eggs Pulled from Costco Shelves Over Salmonella Concerns

In a recent notice from the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA), Costco is actively recalling about 10,800 units of their Kirkland Signature Organic Pasture Raised 24-Count Eggs. This measure has been taken due to potential Salmonella contamination discovered in these products.

According to the FDA, these eggs were distributed to 25 Costco locations across Alabama, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee starting November 22, 2024. Thankfully, no illnesses have been reported related to this recall so far.

The specific product affected is the Kirkland Signature Organic Pasture Raised 24-Count Eggs, which come in a plastic egg carton. They can be identified by UPC 9661910680, Julian code 327, and a "Use By" date of January 6, 2025.

Consumers who have bought these eggs are advised to either return them to Costco for a full refund or dispose of them immediately. The FDA stresses the importance of preventing potential health risks associated with consuming contaminated eggs.

Salmonella infection can lead to symptoms like diarrhea, fever, stomach cramps, headaches, nausea, vomiting, and loss of appetite. Vulnerable groups such as individuals over 65, immunocompromised persons, and young children may experience more severe symptoms. Anyone experiencing such symptoms after consuming the recalled eggs should promptly contact a healthcare provider.
