During an interview with Sky Sports from the Paris Olympics, Kaepernick revealed that he continues to train rigorously, hoping for a chance to return to professional football.

Kaepernick, who last played in an NFL game seven seasons ago, believes he still has much to offer to a team. He expressed confidence in his abilities, stating, "I could bring a lot to a team and help them win a championship." He emphasized his readiness for an opportunity, stating, "We're still training, still pushing."

The former 49ers quarterback has been known for his significant contributions to the team, leading them to Super Bowl XLVII in 2012 and reaching the NFC championship game the following year. However, his career took a different turn when he famously refused to stand for the national anthem before games during the 2016 season, sparking controversy and ultimately leading to his departure from the team.

Despite his extended absence from the game, Kaepernick has repeatedly expressed his interest in making a comeback. Last season, he even reached out to the New York Jets, offering to join their practice squad as a contingency plan following an Achilles tendon injury to their starting quarterback, Aaron Rodgers. However, his offer was not accepted by the team.

Kaepernick remains optimistic about his chances of returning to the NFL, viewing it as a significant accomplishment in his career. He told Sky Sports, "To be able to step back on the field I think that would be a major moment, major accomplishment for me."

At 36, Kaepernick is still younger than several established quarterbacks in the league, such as Aaron Rodgers, Matthew Stafford, Kirk Cousins, and Russell Wilson. His determination to continue training despite his extended absence from the game highlights his dedication to his craft and his belief in his own potential.

As the upcoming NFL season approaches, Colin Kaepernick patiently waits for an opportunity to prove himself once again on the football field. His passion for the game remains unwavering, and his desire to contribute to a team's success continues to drive him forward.
